From Arlberg Resort Klösterle, you can reach the legendary winter sports world of
Ski Arlberg in just a few minutes.
Thanks to your guest card, you can use the ski bus completely free of charge: line 720 takes you directly to Stuben am Arlberg in under 10 minutes. There, you can hop on the Albonabahn 1 gondola, which serves as the perfect gateway to seamlessly access the entire Ski Arlberg area. From Stuben, the choice is yours – head toward
St. Anton and St. Christoph, or set off for Lech and Zürs. Over 300 spectacular kilometers of slopes and world-famous Arlberg charm await you.
The region owes its exceptional snow reliability to its unique geography: during northwest weather patterns, the Klostertal valley experiences a “Nordstau” (orographic lift), forcing air masses to rise along the Arlberg massif and cool rapidly – yielding documented fresh snowfall of up to 170 cm in just four days.
The family-friendly Sonnenkopf ski resort is located just 2.4 km from Arlberg Resort Klösterle and is one of the last pure natural snow ski areas in Austria. With your guest card, you can use the ski bus for free (the bus stop is right in front of the resort), which brings you comfortably to the station in about 10 minutes. More than 30 kilometers of perfectly groomed slopes in a breathtaking alpine backdrop await you.
Experts will get their money’s worth, too: experienced freeriders can tackle the legendary “Bäraloch” – one of the steepest slopes in the country – along with spectacular powder runs into the Nenzigasttal valley.
Atmospheric seasonal highlights, such as the popular mountain breakfast at Sonnenkopf restaurant and monthly full-moon hikes, round off your winter holiday perfectly. Thanks to the “Nordstau” effect caused by the Klostertal valley’s unique geography, a continuous supply of fresh snow is virtually guaranteed.
If you are a guest at Arlberg Resort, tobogganing fun is just around the corner. The 2 km long natural toboggan run on the Sonnenkopf leads swiftly from the mountain station down to the middle station. You can conveniently rent toboggans at Intersport located at the valley station.
A special highlight for families is located right in the village: The Fuchslochbühel. Situated behind the village church, this slope features its own children’s practice lift and is ideal for relaxed afternoon hours (daily from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM). Added value for connoisseurs: Popular lantern walks also start right at the resort (weekly from Jan 10, 2027).
For animal lovers, Klösterle also offers exclusive alpaca walks, which unfold a particularly calming effect in the snow-covered nature during winter.
One of the greatest geographical advantages of our location is the direct access for Nordic winter sports: The 13 km long Alfenz trail starts right behind the resort. Without any travel time, you can step right into the Klostertal valley’s 21 km trail network. Whether classic or skating, you will enjoy the peace and quiet along the stream on perfectly groomed tracks.
The resort is also the perfect base camp for winter hikers. A 3.5 km long, groomed trail starts right at the resort and leads idylllically to the valley station of the Sonnenkopfbahn. If you want to go higher, take the Sonnenkopfbahn up to the Muttjöchle peak (2,074 m).
The 7 km hiking trail offers a 360-degree panorama that brings the entire geological folding of the Alps into view—from the limestone massifs of the Verwall to the Silvretta peaks such as the Piz Buin (3,312 m).
